Shakujii Park

Once the ground where Shakujii Castle stood, Shakujii Park is both a historical site and a green paradise. With around 50 hectares of green grass and rich foliage, the park is ideal for a leisurely stroll. Visitors in spring will enjoy the fleeting beauty of cherry blossoms. The park also boasts two ponds where guests can go on a relaxing boat ride.

Kitayama Park

A spacious park with fresh air, lush greenery and wooden boardwalks. Kitayama Park is especially popular in June during the Higashimurayama Iris Festival. Guests can feast their eyes on 8,000 irises blooming in hues of purple, white and blue. Entrance is free and the park is open all year round.

Showa Kinen Park

A vast park that will take a whole day to fully explore. Showa Kinen Park is a popular sightseeing spot for flowers of every season including cherry blossoms, tulips and poppies. In fall, the park also comes alive with hues of red and orange as autumn foliage marks the season. Massive in size, the park includes cycling trails, a dog run, a bird sanctuary, and a barbecue garden among other attractions.

Hitsujiyama Park

A spacious park most known for the shibazakura (moss phlox) that covers the grounds in hues of pink and purple from mid-April to May. The park also boasts gorgeous cherry blossoms and makes a pleasant picnic spot. Visitors can also see and interact with cute sheep, buy fresh, local goods from a small market, enjoy a playground for both adults and kids, and visit an art museum.

Business Hours: 08:00-17:00 during the Shibazakura Festival (no fixed date), Open all-year-round on other dates

Strawberry Picking

Chichibu's strawberries can be enjoyed from January to June. During this period, several fruit farms in the area offer all-you-can eat options, so make sure to mark your calendars and get your fill.

Kitazakura Street Cherry Blossom Tunnel

With 3,000 cherry trees planted along the sidewalks, Kitazakura and Minamizakura streets of Nagatoro transform into a cherry blossom tunnel in spring. Bask in a dreamy atmosphere and let yourself be mesmerized by sakura petals gracefully making their way to the ground. Perfect for leisurely strolls and photo walks.
